the swan

“There are certain nuances and qualities that you can obtain because you don’t have anything in your hand… It really comes out of the air.”

– Clara Rockmore on the theremin
from “In Clara’s Words” by Bob Moog

The Swan is a callback to Spectre’s deep ballet roots, a variation on Anna Pavlova’s classic solo The Dying Swan, but translated to aerial silks. Taking most of its inspiration from the original ballet (but with some gothic twists to the costuming) and from the vibe of Clara Rockmore’s theremin version of the song, this piece lovingly updates an icon.
